Amelia Ouellette, MS, CCC-SLP

Amy earned her BA from the University of Oregon and then spent 6 months traveling and studying Spanish in Seville, Spain.  She earned a MA from Portland State University.  Her Master’s Thesis, “Prekindergarteners’ Performance on the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts”, was published in the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Journal. 

Amy holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed in the state of Oregon.  She worked in the public elementary schools for 23 years before starting at Heart To Heart.  She values the Private Practice model of working closely with parents to help improve their child’s communication skills. 

Amy delights in helping children improve their communication skills, as a stepping stone to reaching their full potential.  She has vast experience working with children ages 5-12, as well as doing therapy with older teens.  Amy is interested in the areas of articulation/phonological disorders, language development, Fluency/Stuttering and Autism.  She is developing her Spanish Language skills and has both training and interest in working with bi-lingual Spanish/English children.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys indoor and outdoor exercise, reading, sewing, traveling and visiting her children and grandchild.   Amy lives in a forest outside of Newberg with her husband and 2 dogs.  .
